Having gained enthusiasm listening to The Beatles and Elvis Presley, Jimmy Powells learnt his musical skills in the Edinburgh folk scene of the late 1960s.

Jimmy has enjoyed an extensive career in the north-east of England as a vocalist, guitar and most of all a mandolin player.
